“Furnitures of a Concrete City” : city furnitures that look like home furnishings.
These designs were created with a sole reason: to carry the homefeeling to the cityscape, to remind us that a city, bringing together people and communities, is a big home. To create an interior-space outside, the designer used forms that we see in our homes such as sofas, couchs, torchiere lamps. The objects are to be realized on location by casting them in concrete into a metal mold.

 15. Call for Artists: MIXED BORDERS & HYBRID IDENTITIES
Call for Artists: MIXED BORDERS & HYBRID IDENTITIES
Photography / Video Art / Video Mapping / Computer Graphics / Painting / Architecture / Installation / Sculpture / Performing Art
Deadline: April 07, 2013
International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting photo works, video/short films, computer graphics works, paintings, architecture projects, installations, sculptures and performances to include in the next 2013 Exhibition:
MIXED BORDERS & HYBRID IDENTITIES - International Art Exhibition of Photography, Video Art, Computer Graphics, Painting, Architecture, Installation, Sculpture and Performing Art held in Riccione (Italy) during the “Nightshow“, Annual Exhibition of the Night-related Industries and Technologies (www.nightshow-riccione.com).
organizer: International ArtExpo
curator: Luca Curci
press office: It’s LIQUID Group
opening: April 26, 2013 at the Palazzo dei Congressi of Riccione (Italy)
date: April 26-27-28, 2013
The deadline for applications is April 07, 2013
The selection will be based on the main concept of the Hybridization and mixing of Identities and borders and it is divided into two sections: MIXED BORDERS and HYBRID IDENTITIES. Nowadays, urban environments, people, rules and limits are no more distinct realities, but they constantly modify and get mixed together, generating new connections and hybrid results. Ethic, social, sexual and religious borders get confused and we feel free to overcome and change all the limits, creating and showing a new type of identity: a crossbreed of characters inserts into a metropolis in which you can find everything you need and become everything you desire.
The exhibition concept is strictly connected to the “Nightshow” event, since the night is the perfect moment in which all these changes get revealed. During the night the borders vibrate and identities start to get confused.
The Nightshow is an extraordinary experience which will involve thousands of exhibitors, artists and viewers. During the exhibition there will be music events, conferences, showcases, workshops, art shows and many more. More than 100 artists from all over the world will perform music, 3D video mapping projects around the city and partners such as Redbull, Samsung, Yamaha. The event will be at the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th floor of the Palazzo dei Congressi of Riccione, where the fourth and fifth floors will be dedicated to video art, music, installations and art exhibitions.
International ArtExpo will present artists from all over the world in two main venues: Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Riccione in which we will show video art projects divided into two floors (more than 400 square metres of exhibition space), and the Palazzo dei Congressi (Riccione) in which we will exhibit photographic works, performances, installations and sculptures, paintings, architecture projects and computer graphic works. Additionally three places for the 3D video mapping in the city; strategic video projection points in all the Palazzo dei Congressi, with high visibility; dedicated rooms for solo and collective projects and exhibitions.
FREE ARTWORKS SUBMISSION!
For the first time International ArtExpo open the selection to the Video Mapping category! Video Mapping proposals can be presented for free and, if selected, will TAKE PART in this great exhibition FOR FREE!

 17. Border Cities & New Identities | Romania 2013
Opening: July 26th, 2013
Prize: 1 International Exhibition organized by International ArtExpo
Border Cities & New Identities - International Art Festival of Architecture, Photography, Video Art, Computer Graphics, Painting and Performing Art, will be in Suceava (Romania), at The Water Plant “Uzina de Apa” - Center of Architecture, Urban Culture and Landscape, from the 26th July to 02nd August 2013. Thirty-three artists, from different countries, have been selected to be part of this project.
The selection was based on the main concept of hybridization between identities and urban environment, as the result of liquid identities and liquid contacts between people. People, backgrounds, societies, progress and all their inputs creates hybrid identities, modifying each other and being mixed in prospect to shape a better world. Mixing sustainable transport; modern (ICT) communication infrastructure; sustainable economic development; and wise management of natural resources, human, intellectual and social capital, is the key to reach a future better life quality.
organizer: International ArtExpo
curator: Luca Curci
exhibition & screening place: The Water Plant “Uzina de Apa” - Center of Architecture, Urban Culture and Landscape, Suceava (Romania)
dates: from the 26th July to 02nd August 2013, from 10.00 AM to 3.00 PM
opening: July 26th, 2013 at The Water Plant “Uzina de Apa”, at 5.00 pm, Str. Apeductului nr.4, Suceava (Romania)
The Center of Architecture, Urban Culture and Landscape “Uzina de Apa” is the result of a conversion of an old, abandoned Water Plant into a Cultural Center. The project results as a collaboration including municipal authorities, local community and an array of architects, engineers and students. Moreover, private contractors and companies dedicated to innovative techniques are involved to achieve an exemplary public-private partnership. Although originally conceived as a technological construction, the new “Water Plant” is now capable of hosting events ranging from conferences to concerts and exhibitions. By reclaiming its place in the city, this project attempts the true meaning of the word “sustainability” (sus = under and tenere = to hold) - to keep in existence, to maintain and prolong.

 23. Salone Internazionale del Mobile: a mystical place
The event of Salone del Mobile, in opening April 14 to 19 in Milan, Rho, Fair Zone is captivating and faschinating.
The same structure which ospitate the most important meeting on Design at the international level is the result of the creativity of one of the most famous architects, Massimiliano Fuksas, who won the competition for the realization in 2005.
It has the shape of a big ship with a huge sail, were required 19.000 drawings and 8,800 tons of steel to make, and inside the Salone del Mobile is divided, as usual, in the halls Classic, Modern and Design , Furnishing and SaloneSatellite to which this edition is combined with the biennial Euroluce and Workplace3.0 / Office Lounge dedicated to the work environment.
One of the strengths of the Fuksas's project is to have thought about the structure like a miniature city: there are offices, restaurants, pubs, green zones and also water mirrors, totems and sculptures that create amazing spaces. This great meeting with the Design Culture precedes the next big event, a meeting of all cultures, Expo "Feeding the Planet. Energy for life."
It's a creative journey, heady, exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Inspiring, almost dazzling, is a kind of epiphany, is the discovery of an incredible world.

SUMO outdoor - indoor collection: a style fight - dimarziodesign
Today more than ever, talking about general and specific design "trends" in home furnishings has become difficult if not unrealistic, as the global market continues to spin stories and practices of all kinds round its immense culture container, giving rise to phenomena that swing from pure chaos to the most intriguing and engaging revelations.
The SUMO collection is without doubt a child of our times and unsurprisingly, its forms come from influences created by the pursuit of simplicity so typical of Italian design, and the fascination with oriental-style, sleek curved lines. The result presents the viewer with a simple and pleasant interpretation of volumes, without ever degenerating into banality.
In addition, the harmony of the curves, creates a sense of elegance that makes this collection unique, but versatile at the same time. Here too, the "form and function" theorem is evident, "function and form" so dear to us Italians, can once again be seen even on a tea table, with the intention of providing a solution for cleaning the glass surface safely, and avoiding awkward spinal posture.
In the seats the niche for drainage also serves as a handle for moving and lifting them. The objects were designed for rotation technology, and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Bright pastel colours highlight the harmonious shape of the objects.

This duplex is tucked away in nature. It was imperative to not overwhelm the visitor with an abundance of the design elements after a long drive from the city through the green landscapes. Furthermore, to be able to have an unobstructed view of the verdant surroundings the apartment has glass walls on the opposite ends. To emphasize this characteristic, the top floor living room and kitchen blend into each other without a partition between them.
