Salone del mobile di Milano | Day 3

RHO-The 55th edition of the “Salone Internazionale del mobile di Milano” takes place in Rho fair. At the beginning, this fair was borned in order to promote italian’s furniture exportations.

The fair was divided in different pavilions with different figures hosted inside of it. “Salone satellite“ is a pavilion for young designer who exhibit their products with a simple and intuitive method. This year projects were combined each other by a research of materials. La fiera è divisa in numerosi padiglioni a seconda delle figure ospitate al suo interno. Il Salone satellite è un padiglione dedicato ai giovani designer emergenti che mettono i mostra i loro elaborati in modo semplice ed intuitivo. Quest’anno i progetti erano accomunati da una ricerca sui materiali.

“Studio Lorier” is an online brand who makes exclusive design part of yor daily life. Dutch designer Sander Lorier tries to make the interior more fun but also surprising and diversified. Objects are produced with a minimal use of materials but still maintaining their unique functionality. ”Studio Lorier” è un brand online che elabora oggetti di design esclusivi che fanno parte del nostro quotidiano. Il designer danese Sander Lorier cerca con i suoi progetti di ricreare degli arredamenti divertenti ma anche diversi e sorprendenti. Creati con il minimo utilizzo di materiali, gli oggetti mantengono la loro funzionalità.

Jorge Diego Etienne is the designer of “Circluos”, the set of hanging lamps looks fot a reinterpretation oft he common use of plastic and metal for a luminary. Two concentric shades compose this object’s design creating also a subtle light spread.

Jorge Diego Etienne è il designer che ha creato “Circulos” il set di lampade appendibili che vedono una reinterpretazione della plastica e metallo utilizzati nelle comuni luminarie. Due cilindri concentrici formano il design dell’oggetto creando una lieve dispersione di luce.

Susanne de Graef created a set of unusual lamps is made up of powdercoated steel and polyester threads. “The rhythm of light” is the name of her creations. The user decides the rhythm of the lamp by moving the lamp up and down, the layers mingle,the light get’s diffuse and the layers turn into a game of colours.

Susanne de Graef ha creato un set di lampade inusuale con un corpo di metallo e dei filamenti di polyester. “The rhythm of light” è il nome che ha dato alle sue creazioni. Il cliente decide il ritmo della lampada muovendola, i vari livelli si confondono e la luce si diffonde creando un gioco di colori.

“CT lights” is a studio founded by Chris Basias. His lighting concepts often display hints of an eccentric and romantic ideal with references from his childhood experiences in the Greeek country-side. “Roua Mat“ consists of six playful lighting objects which utilize, out of scal and context, the chess pieces figures. “CT lights“ è uno studio creato da Chris Basias. I suoi concept di lampade sono a volte eccentriche e romantiche ma derivano dalle esperienze della sua infanzia trascorsa in Grecia. “Roua Mat” consiste in sei lampade a forma di scacchi anche se sono fuori dal loro contesto e di dimensioni spropositate rispetto agli scacchi da gioco.

ViiCHENDESIGN works with natural materials, advanced workmanship and extensions of memory. It leverages on the physical experience between user and object. It creates a seat with the yoga’s exercise mat discards and a plastic legs who seem to be wood. “ViiCHENDESIGN“ lavora con materiali naturali ed avanzate manifatture. Fa leva inoltre sull’esperienza fisica tra il consumature e l’oggetto. Ha creato quindi una seduta con gli scarti dei materassini per fare yoga e utilizza plastiche per le gambe dando l’impressione che sia legno.

Changing pavilion, we can see other famous brands like Artek-Art and technology since 1935. This year it has represented a collection grown from the original idea of standards and systems, as initiated by Alvar Aalto’s bent wood experiments. This two features create a versatile range of designs,which can be found in private homes, public areas, museums ecc. Cambiando padiglione possiamo vedere brand più famosi come Artek-Arte e tecnlogia dal 1935. Ha presentato una collezione cresciuta sulla base delle originali idee di standardizzazione e sistematicità che hanno avuto il loro inizio in seguito agli esperimenti di Alvar Aalto sul legno piegato. Queste due caratteristiche creano un design versatile che si può trovare in casa, nelle aree pubbliche, nei musei ecc.

Missoni has created a setting with his colorful texture and different types of seats which have all the same color and texture. All this setting was illuminated by soffused lighs which created a relax atmosphere. Missoni ha creato un’ambientazione utilizzando la sua texture dai colori vivaci, proponendo diversi tipi di sedute tutte con la stessa trama illuminato da luci soffuse che creavano un’atmosfera di relax.

Modus has created with Michael Sodeau Art, Abe and Arne, a family of tables with different functions, a side, end and coffee table, all made from recycled material. Each table is produced in solid cork with a section removed to create storage spaces. When grouped together the tables appear to take on their own characters, similar yet individual, like a group of relatives. Modus ha creato con l’aiuto di Michael Sodeau “Art”,”Abe”,”Arne” che sono una famiglia di tavoli dalle diverse funzioni, tutte fatte con materiale riciclato. Ogni tavolo è prodotto in solido sughero con una sezione mancante che permette di creare uno spazio per alcuni oggetti. Quando sono posti insieme i tavoli appaiono come realmente sono, simili ma unici come una famiglia.
