According to Marva Griffin, in charge of that salone since the beginning: “ it is beautiful: young people are coming form all over the world to expose their prototypes, dreaming to be noticed. An ordinary designer even if very talented, what does it do? He designs a lamp, send it to Flos and...good luck. Here, it's the companies that are going to the designer, looking and searching, evaluating the potential of finished products and production”.

We can also mention the organisation committee, in charge of selecting the participants, including the best modern designers in the world: from Giulio Castelli to Italo Lupi, Alessandro Mendini, Paola Antonelli, from Philippe Starck to Mario Bellini,Maddalena De Padova, Carlo Guglielmi, Alberto Alessi and Pierluigi Cerri.

When the salone makes us think on the history and the tradition, the Satellite presents on the contrary the experimentation, the up-most future, looking towards the environment's protection, the recycling and the impact zero.

The Design Facility of the Polytechnic of Singapore deserves to be mentioned, looking at the senses' trail. The visitor is introduced to a world made of air, where lucidity is master and the air is re-interpreted in a sensorial visit.
Salone Satellite 2011. Largo ai giovani!
A working process for the body and mind in a word where we are pushed on the road of materialism and consummation.
